  vent time....friends who steal

  okay i need to vent, i have a good friend who steals, i'll call her tina.

  she is not poor, still lives with her parents who spoil her rotten, they buy her anything and ask for nothing in return.

  she has had one job i think and didn't like it so she told the manager off and quit after maybe a month...it was at a video store for f's sake!

  Hmm... seeing has how you both must be about the same size (she's wearing your shirts), "borrow" some of her clothes without asking. She may not like it, but fact is, she set the ground rules for your friendship. The problem with dealing with people who "don't play by the rules" when we do is that they have no sense of guilt for their actions (stealing, lying). Assuming you aren't going to press charges for her stealing your stuff, the only way justice may be truly served ("eye for an eye" theory) is to return the favor. Quid pro quo. Tit for tat (no pun intended).

  Her actions are apparently "OK" to her. Therefore, how can she object to you returning the favor? Now maybe my suggestion may offend the "God fearing" amonst us, but if there is any chance of your friend learning any lesson here, you need to dish it back. Friendships that last are based on a relationship of equality. You do them a favor, you expect them to return the favor when you need it. You let them borrow money (and I NEVER advise this!), you expect them to pay you back, as well as let you borrow money when you need it. And you pay it back. They borrow your shirt without asking, return the favor.

  Just my opinion.

  i hate doing it every god damn day!

  legs, under arms...other places..lol.

  i don't know what's wrong with me...lately i have cut myself a couple times, and that always feels great!.

  As far as razor technology goes, isn't the Mach III something like 2 generations obsolete? I think they went to 4 blades and now 5 blades! I don't know... something about 5 blades makes it seem less like a grooming tool and more like an instrument of death.

  Also, keep in mind that dull blades are more likely to give you nicks than new blades. Since ladies have coarser hair on their legs, my suggestion is to change blades often... especially if you're going to use the same blade in ... um... more delicate locations.

  Things you see in a Public Bathroom!

  ok, this is gross.. i use to work in a restaurant in fl.

  this lady use to come in that we called poopy pants.

  (not to her face) anyway, she would sit, eat, and go to the bathroom like clockwork.

  So what exactly is the protocol when you sit in a stall, take a dump, then realize there isn't any toilet paper? I imagine THAT would be more embarrassing than blasting a loud one. Sure, you may want to fart in private, but what good is it to be alone in the public restroom when you don't have any TP?

  If ever you were at the mercy of a stranger's goodwill... that would be the time!

  What does it take to make my sister to stop shunning me? High Gas Prices!

  i recently received a very odd email from my devout-jw sister who has been shunning me since 1998. it is that "the price of gas is too high so lets stop buying gas from exxon and mobil to start a price war" email.

  i'm sure many of you have seen it.. therefore, what does it take to make my jw sister stop shunning me?

  simple: high gas prices!

  OK... I think this has nothing to do with higher gas prices... I really think it's a genuine cry for help! Save her!

  Besides, I always thought JW's walked - least they were always on foot when they knocked on my door. I'll have to ask my wife about this.

  Hi all!

  As you all know from my introduction, I'm not a former JW. I was raised RC, though like ever good RC, I got to church no more than twice a year (Christmas and Easter). If there was a wedding or a funeral that year, I generally skip one or both of the holidays to boot. Sad huh? Hey, don't cry for me, Argentina! Anyhow, just for the sake of conversation (and curiosity on my part), I have a question. While I understand that it is a big adjustment for most leaving the borg (my wife, Rebel8 is an ex-JW as you all know), did any of you subsequently join another organized religion, and if so, which ones?

  I would completely understand if after all the difficulties of being a JW, most would choose to not be affiliated with any other organized religion, but I'm curious if some have? My wife and I (as you can imagine) have had MANY MANY discussions on religion (in general) and I'd like to share my opinions with you all, however, I'd like to see how you all respond to my query first.

  So, the question isn't JW or NO JW, but assuming most are NO JW, then Religion or NO Religion?

  Life IN or Out of JW's suck

  i've been keeping tabs on my old congregation for the last 3+ years (i dont even remember when was the last time i went to a meeting) it is not easy, i have joined a site named 'bebo' and have a handfull of so called 'friends' in my network.

  mostly from my old congregation, they seem to acknowledge my existence, but keep there distance.

  no one ever invites me to anything or to hang out.. time flies and things change.

  Just to add to what Audesapare was saying regarding making new friends, keep in mind that we make our friends (for the most part) one by one over time - our best friends more slowly. It will take time to make more friends to replace the once you left behind. But you did it before, you can do it again. Imagine the scenario of moving to a new city in a new state. You'd be forced to make all new acquaintances.

  Also, as a few have already posted, you have to get off the fence. To quote Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid: "Danielsan, you must do karate yes or you must do karate no. Or sooner or later, get squished like grape!" Now, I'm sure I completely misquoted Pat Morita's character, but the message is quite clear. You'll only keep getting hurt if you sit on the fence.

  I'd also like to submit the possibility that you never actually need to go outside your own home to meet new friends. Not with the internet having something like a billion users. It has been my experience that 80% of all my best conversations have been with like-minded people on line! What are friends for if not to share ideas, feelings, successes, failures, love, hate, and opinions with? However, that being said, it's probably not a bad idea to get off your butt once in a while and leave the house.

  Howdy all!

  Newbie here! Well, at least newbie to THIS forum. Certainly not a newbie to forums in general! At the request of my lovely wife (Rebel8), I've decided to introduce myself! My wife and I have had thousands of discussions regarding JW's. I clearly don't have the depth of knowledge that she has (I've never been a JW - Roman Catholic, here), but may be able to provide a third party perspective on some of the discussions. While I was raised a RC, I'm really a man of science (not a Scientologist!) and tend to look at most things in the logical sense.

  So, from time to time, I may throw in my two cents on different topics, but don't expect me to quote or misquote scriptures! Oh, and if you want to know more about Rebel8 from her husband's point of view, you're welcomed to ask! I won't give out personal info though - be forewarned!
